The NWWA is excited to invite you to our Third Annual All Hands Luncheon and Training Session.  The luncheon and training session will be held at The Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue on Thursday May 21st. We have scheduled key note speakers to lead the session from various facets of the industry. We will be running dual track training sessions after lunch.  You can choose one track per training session.  
  
The cost of the event is $25 per person. To RSVP,  please contact Katie Baggett at  206.300.4221 or via email at kbaggett@rykacommunications.com. We are accepting payments through Paypal and when you RSVP, we will send you the link.  If you would like to attend the morning CPR Certification, there will be an additional charge of $30 per person.

Land use practice tips for wireless communications applications
Lead by Mr. Chuck Maduell, Attorney from Davis Wright Tremaine and Mr. Rich Busch, Attorney from Busch Law Firm PLLC. Additional invited speakers are: David Soloos from the City of Portland and Laura Altschul from Extenet Systems.
 
Chuck Maduell and Rich Busch will provide practical tips and suggestions for the preparation of land use applications for wireless communications sites, and the presentation of your application at a land use hearing.
 
Topics will include how to deal with LULUs (locally unpopular land use) cases in general, as well as practical considerations for wireless communications facilities.  Comments will focus on Washington and Oregon land use law and proceedings.
 
Chuck is an experienced land use attorney in sensitive cases, including wireless communications sites and Wal-Mart stores. Rich has been advising telecommunications companies on regulatory and real estate matters for over 30 years. A question and answer period will be provided at the end of the session.

Passive Intermodulation (PIM)
Discussion to be lead by an Andrew's Representative 
 
Passive intermodulation (PIM) products are becoming a problem in wireless communications system design.  Andrew Wireless is one of the leading authorities on this subject.  Topics will include an overview of PIM as well as how to overcome the production of  unwanted signal frequency components in passive, nonlinear devices.

RF EME 101
Lead by Mr. Kevin McManus, Senior Program Director of EBI Consulting's National Environmental Health and Safety Program
 
This presentation is designed to serve as awareness level training for field staff working around active telecommunications sites, or for those who want to learn more about RF exposure.  EBI will focus on the relevant FCC and OSHA regulations governing site Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) evaluations, including predictive modeling, onsite monitoring, required site signage, and other RF compliance requirements.  Other topics include: health effects of RF EME, techniques to both FCC and OSHA requirements, various steps needed to become RF compliant, and recognition of potential rooftop and telecommunication tower facility hazards.  A question and answer period will be provided at the end of the session.

LTE  (Long Term Evolution)
Lead by a Powerwave Technologies representative
 
Session will include LTE 4G Technology Overview, understanding the evolution of cellular networks, implementation strategies, impact on base station sites and discussion of future networks. Powerwave Technologies is a global leader in end-to-end wireless coverage and capacity solutions for wireless communications networks. Powerwave's product line supports all wireless network protocols and frequencies. A question and answer period will be provided at the end of the session.

We have received feedback from various people with interest in CPR Certifications. For an additional fee of $30 per person, we will be offering a morning CPR Certification class taught by Firefighters and EMT's from the Bellevue Fire Department.  The curriculum is consistent with International, ECC, and OSHA/Department of Labor standards. 

All participants must register by Friday May 15th. This class will begin at 9:00am.  Check-in will open at 8:30.
